The relationship with your mental health counselor is specific, and special. The counseling space is uniquely capable of sifting past top layers of niceties, “shoulds”, and binaries. With time and energy, relational safety is created for your internality to be marveled at, cried alongside, and dreamed within. I aim to work as a prismatic mirror into the layers you have both within yourself and within your relationship to others. I work with individuals (and with couples) around trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and transition. I'm poly-supportive, trans-celebrating, and unequivocally LGBTQIA-affirming. Additionally, I feel strongly about normalizing vulnerability within masculinity. Toxic masculinity can stem from power, from insecurity, or from a desire to fit in/be accepted. I’m excited about making room for a new masculinity: one that has the capacity to be tender, emotional. A masculinity that isn’t shamed but celebrated for showing up with honesty. Therapy requires relational trust because it asks for vulnerability. I consider the creation and maintenance of a safe connection with you as my primary task. I find meaning in nurturing an environment where any experience, emotion, or thought can be shared without shame or judgment. I look forward to chatting with you, I'm available via phone or email.
